Fluid Dynamic World

How does a heart work? Or an airplane fly?

Fluid Dynamic World gives a practical hands-on exploration as to the nature of how liquid and gases flow and how they can be used in practical applications (aerodynamics and hydrodynamics). By building simple models we can recrate natural processes and get a true feeling as to the why and how of the dynamics in our midst.

By crafting models and simple equipment, exploring the movement of water and observing cloud formation in open skies students will appreciate unique forces involved in ostensibly innocuous every day occurrences. By virtue of getting their hands dirty and wet the feel of how energy is transferred will be somatically experienced.

Examining mathematical models and testing their accuracy will be scaled to appropriate age and comfort levels, offering an accessible and fun introduction to aeronautical engineering, astrophysics, meteorology, oceanography and biology.

Arts Integrated Children's Programs

GannTree approaches learning with robust programs developed in alignment with the EUME method, in practice with children.

GannTree programs are available for delivery direct from our artist educators to children ages 4-16 and also for licensing as an integrated training ground for SEL informed EUME pedagogical practice with the professional development training.

Chess Ballet Theatre (strategy and social)

Chess Ballet Theatre has been offering a multi pronged program combining music, dance, and chess. Children are immersed in the magical world of “Glittering Leaf Forest”. Which is narrated by the Storyboard Conductor to be a place of joy, dance, music, song, and play. As the Storyboard Conductor introduces the children to Glittering Leaf Forest the Songsmith introduces musical undertones which prompt the Storyboard Conductor to tell the students about “The Forces of Shadow”.

The Forces of Shadow are usurpers who have infiltrated Glittering Leaf Forest to steal the joy, dance, music, song, and play. These dark forces, led by their own dark king, do not understand the eternal abundance of the forest. It is the task of the Storyboard Conductor and the Songsmith to take the students on a journey of discovery through the land of Glittering Leaf Forest that culminates in defeating and forgiving the King of the Forces of Shadow; making the forest whole again.

Cardboard Kingdom (engineering & sound - instrument and costume creation)

Cardboard Kingdom is an joyful, learning adventure about sound, resonance, vibration, crafting, tension, compression, and listening to each other's rhythms as we play together in the discovery of paper constructed music.

Children build xylophones, guitars, and drums while learning about how and why they work. Side by side, they pick up and exchange teachable moments, playing together, while they play together.

Art is truth - one’s capacity to create touching art is one’s capacity at telling the truth - and one’s capacity to tell the truth is one’s capacity to sit in discomfort and heal.

Looking with a lens of love.

Engineer and numeric literacy advocate, Philippe Laurent approaches all through the lens of love. Patience and empathy rule as Philippe takes his manufacturing, automation and programming experience of attentiveness to minute measurements and punctuative detail and allows it to attune his educational presentations and tutoring with gentleness and care, honouring the whole human as a complete being to whom respect is due.

Learning how to teach meant learning how to learn.

Overcoming my own personal difficulties in learning and then

in exploring how to help others how to learn I began to

realize what it was to really know something and to share it

- that I wasn’t teaching a subject I was sharing an approach.

Courses

Pamela and Philippe have been teaching in various disciplines for years; both in the tangible and in the intangible sciences. Their combined skills compliment each other by filling in the full spectrum of teachable experience and pedagogical practice.

Our courses have been developed with a strong emphasis on parallel creation with children. We have refined and reoriented our practices to meet the methods that children learn best and feel fulfilled so that learning and discovery are intrinsic to interacting with the world around them.

All of our courses incorporate a physical, emotional, and intellectual component.

  1. Geometry In Nature
  2. Fluid Dynamic World
  3. Words of Expression
